My plan about booking stuff for my Satan/Black Metal book in march has already shown to be a great idea. Most of March is now booked with awesome stuff to put in my book. BUT...
There is still a lot of things that I want to do and some things that I have enough of. There has to be a limit to how many goats I can do in one month and have in one book... although I seem to come up with new ways to do them all the time. This is not me saying that I am done with goat. I love doing them I just feel that I need to do some other designs for this project.

There is still some days and spots left to fill with evil awesomeness so don't hesitate to write me with ideas.
I have tried to make a list of basic ideas and keywords of the things I really want to do. My goal is to have all my material collected in July so if there should be someone with a really awesome idea but won't be able to make it in march I MIGHT be able to fit you in later... but it has to be good... really good.

So here is the list of things I really really want to do. Most of it I imagine done in a really really simple traditional style. Most of it few colors like black, red, maybe yellow or green. Some of it can be mixed with other things for those of you who neeeeeed a rose or a skull... or even a goat. Yes sure, I will do a goat IF it is mixed with a "portrait" of a member of a Black Metal band. HA! Ok here it is...

- Classic traditional girls faces with corpse paint. Maybe spikes or something

- Naked witch-like girls with corpse paint

- Those cheesy baby angles (cherubs)... but with corpse paint

- mystical Satanic/devil figures with symbols around them (Super simple and graphic style)

- Band members made traditional. (Varg/Burzum, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Darkthrone, 1349, Carpathian Forest, Mayhem etc) Yes, roses can be added here but standing alone will also look really cool.

- Made-up black metal faces/persons. Maybe with weapons and spikes.

- Seriously... I really want to do some band members!! Like the ones on the flash page!!

- Nature stuff. Trees and moons and bones and shit. Runes maybe.

- Covers like Darkthrone: Transilvanian Hunger, A blaze in the northern sky, Panzerfaust, Under a funeral moon. Burzum: Filosofem, Burzum, Hvis lyset tar oss. Mayhem Live in Leipzig. Carpathian Forrest: We are going to hell for this, Through Chasm, caves and titan woods. etc.
Some albums have cool artwork for the songs inside the covers as well... this leeds to the next:

- Reference to song titles. We can write a title with evil letters and then something that goes with it.

- Did I mention people from bands? You know... like simple portraits?

- Stuff with band names like a sheep head on a pole and Gorgoroth written or naked crucified people as reference to their live show.

I'm also still open for your own ideas because I keep coming up with stuff and then forget it again so just bring it!

Happy new year all.

As I wrote in my last post, I need your help. You might havn't read it and I understand... there were no pictures to look at or anything so I'll explain.

I am putting together stuff for a new book project. The main theme will be Black Metal and everything related or inspired by this. I don't wanna get into why and what right now since that will take too long and besides, you cane read it when you buy the book, wink wink.

The book will be a bit of everything that I do. Everything from photos, paintings, Illustrations, doodles and yes, tattoos.

So here is what I need from you. I want to make a big batch of tattoos specially made for this book. By specially I mean that they fit in the theme and therefor has to fit certain criteria.
You don't have to be on my waiting list to get in on this action so if you want to skip 2 years of waiting list and want to have something evil black metalish done then here is your chance. I will reserve as much of March as possible for this. I obviously need to book March with work so please get back to me about this and appointments as fast as possible, so that I can plan everything.
So here is how it's gonna work:

1) It has to be somehow related to or inspired by Black Metal!
This can be everything from an interpretation of a cover (no reproductions, but my way of drawing it), something with corpse paint, something inspired by a song or lyric, burning churches, "portraits" of members of bands, satan stuff and crap... please just feel free to think of things here. The better the idea the bigger the chance to get a spot. If you aren't sure about your idea then shoot me a mail about it and we will see where we can take it. I can come up with tons of cool ideas but I really want to see where you guys can take it. You can also choose to just give me a spot, size and a few keywords like favorite album, singer, cover, band, image etc and I'll figure out something. Go nuts and evil.

2) I need to be a one session piece
... ABSOLUTELY MAX 2 sessions IF we can finish it in March.
This means that it shouldn't be too big. But everything from palm size to a one session up to 7-8 hours is cool.

3) It needs to be on a spot where I can get a good photo of it.
This means no strange angles between to many other tattoos. Please give me a good spot to work with here. No hands or necks since it is illegal to do in Denmark. No feet since they ALLWAYS photograph badly.

4) Be prepared to let me change details about the design
... so I can make sure that I can use it for this project. This usually isn't a problem with any of my customers...just wanted to make it clear anyway.

The tattoos I will do here won't be published anywhere until they have been printed in this book to make sure that there is something new to look at for the tattoo lovers.
When emailing about appointments make sure to include a few possible dates to make it easier and faster to book everybody in.

I really really hope that there is a lot of you who wants to be a part of this. I will make a little special something for those of you who gets tattooed for this project as a thank you.

So come on people!!! Put on some corpse paint, your favorite Burzum album on the record player and start thinking about what you can get tattooed and then email me asap!!

New Year's eve

The old year is almost over. Done. Finished... Next!

There is many good things to remember from 2011 and I wish that I had been better to blog about all these things that happened so that I could go back and look at it all in a few years. This would be a good time to make a new years resolution about being better at posting here at the blog but I think we have heard that song before. So I'm not gonna go there.

Instead of promising things that I might not be able to keep I'm gonna tell you about some projects that I plan on doing next year. That's kind of a new years resolution, right? If I write it down here it feels like I have to follow up on it.

2012 will be the year where I will have my very first solo show. March 24th will be the opening date for my Black Metal portrait show at Lionheart Gallery in Germany. I will get into this more in another post where I will have more time to get into details and such.

2012 will also be the year where we finally start using our newly build darkroom. It has taken us a long time to finish this but I have a feeling that it will be all worth it. The projects are already lining up to get started and it surely will be great to be able to develop our own rolls of film instead of depending on expensive, slow labs. I love the thought of being involved in all the steps of making the picture instead of depending on strangers to finish what you started. On top of this I have found the most amazing printer that will allow me to print my digital pictures on amazing papers. Again something that I have had to get done at expensive labs, not always to my satisfaction. Now I just need to buy this wonder machine.
Another project that we have been looking forward to get into is making our own t-shirts and such. 2012 will hopefully bring a whole bunch of limited edition t-shirts, patches and what else we can print on. But it's not only the limited kind of shirts that I am planing on doing. As soon as time allows me, I am gonna go talk to a guy about the last details before printing the first batch. Yep!

In the past there has been many ideas for different book projects. All has faded and turned into other ideas that would never see the light of day. 2012 will hopefully be the year that I actually do get to follow through on one of these ideas and turn it into an actual book. I plan on revealing the theme and some of my ideas for this project pretty soon as I need your help to pull this off. Soon...promise.

One of my latest obsessions has been Norwegian Black Metal. This has not only taken over my music collection but also taken a big part of my artistic vision and choice of subject matter. Many has jumped on this genre as a result of trend and many might think the same about me but those close to me know that Black metal really has taken a big piece of me and that this is much more than a trendy fling. This will be something that I will take with me into the new year and that you will see much more of in the future just as I still have a sweet spot for the occult and satanic imagery. ... Yes there will also still be room for cute animals and other things of non evilness... Don't worry.

For a long time I have been wanting to get into doing something more... daring. I don't like the term erotic... in my head it sound like some cheesy 90's softporn. That alone has been reason enough for me to hold back on the more graphic ideas I have had. That and the fear of what people might think and if I would shock the people close to me. Well, my awesome wife is dealing with the fear of what people MIGHT think and how that can restrain your self and she is doing a great job so I should do something about it as well. I have been in love with "erotic" photography for a long time but have way to many times felt "embarrassed" about it because people COULD see it as just porn. And so what if they did? Their problem. But it still bugs me that people automaticly degrades pictures of naked people to jerkoff material and that's not what I have in mind for what I want to do. Funny as how something like sex and nudity is still so hush hush in some cases even for someone like me. So be warned... there will be a lot of adult content in the future and hopefully I will be able to loosen up and let go of all the restraints at some point.

Something completely different that I am really really looking forward to in the new year is to go back to Japan. I still can't believe that it has been so long since we have been there. We already have two trips planed for this spring and the first will be in Febuary. Can't wait to see our friends again and to come home to the place that we love so much.
We love to travel so I hope that the new year will bring many exciting travels and adventures. I hope to be able to make it back to the states to visit some of our friends there, but also new countries would be nice. We will see.

Japan will hopefully also be the theme for many new photo sets. I have already planed to revisit a few of the ones from last time like bikes, legs and people in the streets in general. Hopefully I will be a bit less shy this time.
I'm planning on improving my photo skills a lot next year by taking a lot of pictures. Practice, practice, practice!!! I can only hope that new exciting projects will present them self along the way.

I had many other things that I wanted to write about and include in my new-years-to-do-list but as you might have noticed after reading this far, my writing skills have not been my strongest skill today. Me words today not good very much please. It might be better to stop before I loose all my followers or kill you with boredom.

But before I let you go I would like to say thank you for 2011 to all my customers, blog followers, instagram followers, Twitter followers and people in the real world who show interest in what i do, to all my friends and family and to my amazing wife who always supports me in what ever stupid plan I get. I love you.

Behind the crooked cross

Ohh where to start and what to talk about.

One of the things that has been on my mind a lot lately is religion. This could turn into a looooong rant about the subject but I will try to quickly turn it towards my tattooing and keep it (as much as possible) at that.

I have had a lot of people who asks if they can get their tattoo without any upside down crosses or any other satanic symbols. Well of course you can! I'm not out to turn the world into satan worshippers one customer at the time. I tattoo what people want me to tattoo but of cause I have been steering towards some symbols now and then, that being either christian, freemasonic or Satanic. This doesn't mean that I will force anyone to get satanic tattoos unless they want it.

Right here I would like to note something. Back when everyone was doing freemasonic symbols I would hear people complain about how I used the freemason symbols without being a freemason (I will get back to this later) or without knowing the true meaning. Well... first of all I do what people ask me to tattoo. I use the symbols for their mystic value and I also know that half of the people who ask for stuff like that doesn't have a clue about it either. Should we educate the customers about this before tattooing it permanently on their body or should we simple refuse to tattoo these symbols until they are aware of the true meaning or even in this case a real freemason? I personally don't think so and I don't really care what you are or what you stand for or what clubhouse you belong to. In that case shouldn't we make sure that people really did believe in god before we do crosses, virgin marys or jesus on people? What makes that so different? My main goal is to make a permanent mark on my customers that looks great and will look great no matter what you believe in. I don't believe in any god and I don't worship satan (some believe in Satan as the devil, opposite of god. Some think of Satan as a more natural power manifested as Satan or Lucifer). I do find it interesting as an opposite to the standardized religion and church... uhhh, gotta be careful here... trying to get back to the tattoo part again...

I do like to use the satanic symbols for several reasons and I feel that in most cases my customers feel the same way about it. Some want them for the same reason as everybody wanted freemason stuff not too long ago, because it is mysterious and in this case kinda occult. Of course there is always the ones that just wants it because everybody else have it.

Another reason, I think, is that people use these Satanic symbols as their way of saying fuck religion. Maybe not in a that harsh way but still. This is one of my main reason for using them. This is my way of representing the opposite of believing in god. I don't believe in anything but atheism doesn't have any really cool symbols. Call it a youth rebellion that showed up way too late but this is my opinion and I will be happy to hear others opinion too.

One of the things I wanted to say with all this was also that I feel that the use of these symbols are getting worn out by the mass use of it. I realize that I have been guilty in this my self and I am a part of the ones doing it but I'm starting to see what the Masons fuss was all about. I realize that when you stand for something or is a part of something you get annoyed when others use what is important to you... when people water out what you feel strongly for so it feels less valuable. This is how I feel about the Satanic symbols thrown in everywhere these days. "but Allan, I thought you said you didn't believe in Satan or any god?" That's true but my opinion about religion is the reason I started to use theses symbols in the first way. It might have started almost as a joke but underneath the meaning was there and still is. So even now when we make jokes about how metal and Satanic this next tattoo will be and it might look more cute and funny than really evil, there is still my opinion about reliogion in there. I just wonder if everybody else who throws upside down crosses in their tattoos, like nobodies business, feels the same way or if they just do it as the new freemason symbols? I guess it's just because I have seen a lot of tattoos lately that has gotten me thinking about this... just random designs where the upside down cross doesn't really have any meaning or reason to be in there.

I don't care if you believe in one thing or the other and it's not like I don't tattoo christian, Hindu or any other religious symbols anymore. Anyone who have seen our shop knows how much we love Christian symbols and icons. I usually call our shop the most christian looking atheist shop because of all the crosses and rosaries and shit we have everywhere although we don't believe in anything. I have a lot of friends who believe in god and I don't have a problem with that. I know that it's something they feel for and need in their life. It's just not for me.

I don't really know where this rant ended or where it was going but here we are. Almost at the end.

What I started saying was that you DON'T have to get an upside down cross in your tattoo. I guess that after this rant a lot will feel more like they CAN'T get an upside down cross in their tattoo. I still see the humor in using it randomly, so bring it. If your idea works it's fine by me. I still see the humor in small cute Satanic animals and stuff like that. In fact the irony makes it show that it isn't really Satanic either. As I said before, my main goal is to make a good looking tattoo and most of my customers know that I feel that it's more important that the tattoo looks good than what it means. It's a tattoo... it's there to decorate.

I think I better stop now. This went on longer than it was supposed to and I have no idea if this made any sense since I just went with it and I will post it without going back to read it... so bear with me if it's a complete mess. But do feel free to share thoughts on the subjects.

Natalie came back for two more sessions on her sleeve. This time we had two succesfull days with two finished pieces and no tears! First day we finished the lady with her birdcage in her hair. Some might think that's a strange place to put a cage but to that I say mind your own damn business! She can put it where ever she wants!

Second day we did this siamese magpie. We all know how they love their bling bling so we had to put a diamond in there... you know ... to symbolize ...um.... eternal struggle...umm ...as..or...with...It's pretty ok?!

Up last we have my Norwegian homey Martin who came to finish the sleeve that started it all.

I would like to note that NO actual churches were harmed doing any of his tattoos!!

We also did a second day on hime where we did a secret project. I didn't get a good shot of it but maybe if you're lucky you can find it soon on the Conspiracy Inc blog.

Martin will also be my guide on my photo trip to Norway to get some some pictures for my Black Metal art show.

I almost forgot to tell you all about the news stuff:

I have gotten a GO for my Black Metal show. The main pieces will be the watercolor portraits that I have been working on, based on Peter Beste's book True Norwegian Black Metal but also my own photos from Norway and some more tattoo related paintings based on Black Metal. I'm looking forward to have the time to get into this subject some other day.

Hello again! I'm back blogging from the computer. Not for long though since I have a Halloween post coming up with iPhone pictures of all the tattoos I did on our two day Halloween craziness.

I feel like I should have a lot to say here since it has been a while but I'm not even sure if anyone is listening anymore so until I figure that out you will just have to settle fir pictures... which I expect is what most of you readers come for anyway, Right? Do feel free to drop me a line in the comments if you miss anything here or if there is something you feel that would be interesting to see or hear about.

To make it short then here is some stuff that didn't made it in my last update so they aren't really that new to me.

I do have a few cool news before I let you go look at the pictures. We have just bought our tickets to go back to our favorite place in the world, JAPAN!!! Ohhh home sweet home. Can't wait to set foot on Japanese ground again. To see the people that we haven't seen in way too long. So we will be in Japan from the 8th to the 22nd of febuary. We don't know about work yet since we both wanna see people we haven't seen in a long time, go travel a bit and hopefully get tattooed a bit more by Shige if he can fit us in. We both feel so bad for not getting worked on for a whole year so we are excited to get on with our tattoos. But a few tattoo dates will be available so if you are interested already please send me an email soon. We are also planing on going back again in April for a month so please have that in mind as well although no dates are set just yet. Plans are beginning of April till beginning of May. More about that later on when tickets are booked. So for now lets focus on Febuary.

Here is another blogpost directly from my phone to you, yes you, right there in front of the computer. Wow right? Technology.
Anyway. If you follow me on instagram or twitter you already know this but we are having a Halloween day at the shop this Saturday. I have been working on a flash sheet that I will be tattooing from. No appointments or reservations and these bad boys and girls will not only be done once so if you have your eye on something the. Don't worry you will have plenty of chances to get it done. Thing is, on this special day it will be half price if you are dressed up. I'm not talking putting on a hat. We want to see some really well thought out costumes. So get dressed up and drop by the shop for some Halloween fun and cool tattoos by me and mr Chriss Dettmer who will bring his own sheet of scary goodness.

Leftovers

Yesterday was our second attempt to get the danish customers in gear and give them a chance to skip waiting lists and all that stuff...be spontaneous and just jump right in and get at tattoo. Well... Let's start with the concept.

As some of you know (you who follow me on twitter, here and instagram) we had a few leftovers from the London flash and since I really wanted to do some more tattoos from these pages I decided to make two days where you could skip the waiting list and get a tattoo right now. First day was previous friday. I ended up doing two tattoos witch was really good but there would have been time for a few more. Still a big thanks to Jonas and Kasper for getting a piece done. Second day was yesterday. Much better! 3 guys came from Sweden to get a piece of the action and our regular customer Ole also wanted a little something. Just like in London, everything just worked out smoothly and I had a really fun day. Thanks guys! It was awesome to work like this and actually get to do 4 cool tattoos on 1 day.

If I still sound a bit disappointed it's only because I had hoped for more people to be spontaneous and just drop by. I do feel it was a success and I had great fun both days. It just seems funny how people always complain about how impossible they think it is to get tattooed by me when really, it's not. Join the waiting list. Look on our twitter for last minute cancelations, and drop by when we have a walking day like these two days. I hope it is just a matter of getting used to this before we can make it work because I have plans about doing this at least once a month. I'm gonna build up a collection of flash that will be available on these days and where you can just drop by to get tattooed on the day. It won't be one of a kind flash like this was but I'm hoping that the collection will grow so that there will be smaller chance for repetitions. The few designs that hasn't been done from the London flash will be going into the flash archive but those designs that I have tattooed by now will not be made again. DONE!

So keep an eye out for flash walking day news later. It everything works out the firs one will be sometime in December. So remember: Walk-in...no appointments needed. No custom work, ONLY from my own flash. More info soon.

We have started our staycation that will last all of october. That however doesn't mean that I won't be working at all. Still have bills to pay and we do have a few fun projects in mind...maybe around Halloween!?!?

But first things first. As I have a few designs left-overs from the London flash that I really really want to do I have decided to have a flash sale out. This means that you will have a chance to skip the 2 years waiting list and get tattooed right now... if you would like to have any of the flash designs done that is. I'm gonna have this Friday the 7th and then Saturday the 15th of october to choose from. So if you are interested in getting one of the designs done let me know asap. Who ever comes first gets an appointment. I'm gonna try to squeeze as many in as possible since there is different sizes to choose from. I might update once in a while about what flash is left to choose from. All designs will be done only once except the King Diamond Flash. I might make prints of that so I can't promise that there won't be reproductions of that one. I will still tattoo from it if anyone wishes. So Email me if you are interested in getting something done this Friday or Saturday the 15th. You can also try your chance and drop by. If there is time left I will be doing walk-ins from the sheets as well. Anything to do more from these pages.

Here is the fruits of one of the most stressful weeks ever. As you may know if you read this blog or follow me on Instagram or twitter I had decided to make a special flash set to tattoo from at this years London Tattoo convention. As always this had to be done in the last minute which resulted in a week of no sleep and no time to hang out with my wife or anyone else for that matter. But my plan worked. The deal was that there would be no pre bookings. Who ever came first when I get there or finished a tattoo would get the next one. This part could use a bit of adjustment. It worked perfect for me as I was just tattooing non stop friday and saturday and got a small break sunday when we decided to stop the walking part after the first one as it was kinda big and they closed at 7. I do feel that there were a lot of people who might have felt that they wasted time just hanging out at my booth waiting to get a spot, all for nothing. I do wanna thank you all for the patience and the interest and I hope that you will come back and try again next year. If you were one of those who waited for nothing I would like to hear what we can do better next year. I am gonna do the same thing: make a set of flash to choose from and do the walk-in thing again. I just want to hear if there is anything we can do better so we don't waste peoples time. Write a comment if you have an idea.

A big thank you to you guys who did made it and got tattooed. Thank you for the patience and for sitting in painful positions while getting tattooed for hours!

Thank you to all the people who have shown interest in the flash set and asking for prints. There might be prints of the 2 sheets that I didn't tattoo from including the King Diamond sheet. I am looking into getting those printed but not sure yet so be patient and don't email me about them just yet. It will be up here if I go through with them.

Today is the first day of our whole month of stay-cation. I do plan on working now and then but mostly work on the tons of other things that I have started but never finished. BUT... I have this idea. I wanna do some more of the pieces from the London flash that never got done. I will find a few days in the end of october where it will be possible to get some of the designs done and skipping the loooong waiting list that I have. So if you a interested in getting a piece done from one of these sheets then stay tuned. I will announce the dates in a few days.

But here is what this post is all about...the designs that DID get tattooed at the London Convention 2011. It seams like it is impossible for me to take good pictures at the convention and that actually resulted in one tattoo missing here. Sorry Matt.

Here is a quick post made from my iPhone so I'm sorry if it doesn't look like it is supposed to. This is the first time I try this blogger app but I have had noooo time to blog for a while. Every day working and going home afterward to paint for my London flash. Still not done yet but this is the last chance I have to post a preview of what you can get done at this weekends London tattoo convention. By request from certain people I am back at the blogging. I am taking a break from making the cover for my friends in The Kandidate. The front is done and I will be working on the rest later today and this weekend we will have a photoshoot for the album as well. Fun times. It is also time for me to get working on the flash designs that I will offer for walk in customers at this years London Tattoo convention. There will be no appointments so if you wanna get tattooed by me at the show just drop by and see if there is anything you like. As always there will be no necks, ribs and other back breaking spots. I all reveal this much about the designs... it will be Metal, it will be dark it, it will be satanic, it will be awesome! So drop by and see what I have come up with and grab a few of my new black metal stickers.

I am also almost done with all the tshirts designs that I have been working on so soon I will just need to figure out where to print them but I got an idea so stay tuned for that too.

Also in the works: It looks like we are on to a way to make fancy ass prints. This will make it possible for me to do more limited runs of prints which means more prints for sale since I don't have to do a big run each time. More about that soon as well.

Alright, I think that was enough exciting news for now. I need to save some for later posts so you guys don't have to wait months between blog posts. I have even saved a few pieces for the next post. Speaking of... here is some tattoos:

Our friend Adam Hays was here working for a week and he got him self a little tribute to his granny who used to shoot the coyotes from the porch back home in Texas. Yeb!

Alex came back for a bit of touchup on his epic battle between the mongoose and the cobra. Since he had to come all the way from the Uk to get that done we figured that we might as well add a small new piece to make it worth the trip. A tribute to his mom...i think it was...right?

I know I know... but let's just skip the excuses.

Sooo...I'm back.

Still not a lot of good shot of finished pieces. Been working on a lot of bigger ones or finishing stuff where it's hard to get a good shoot because some is new and some is healed....Buuuut I do have a bit to share and just to make sure that I have something to blog soon, I'm only giving you these 4.

Don't know what to tell about them so how about you just sit back and look at them and make up your own stories this time?

Many things have happened since last time! MANY. Some you can check out on the Conspiracy Inc. blog (Like my surprise Black Metal Birthday party) or on my photo blog (like our trip to Hong Kong and the Roskilde Festival).

I have been working on some sweet tshirt designs that I hope I can share with you soon. Just need a bit of cleanup in photoshop and then they should be good to go to the printer....who ever that end up beeing. But I hope to share them sooner than that. Other sweet metal related things have been going on at my drawing table. Like so evil satanic logos for both me and the shop! EVIL I tell you!! Soon!!!

I promise I will be back in a few days. My vecation is coming up so there should be time to blog a bit and catch up on things.

Helloo hello.

I'm sorry that my first post back from our vacation isn't more interesting than this but it is important though.

Most of you know that Japan mean a lot to me an my wife. It is our second home and my personal favorite place in the world. This is why it's important to us that we can do something to help the country that was shaken to it's knees.
Just because we don't hear about it in the news anymore doesn't mean that they don't still need our help.
We would like to thank everyone who has already bought a print to help. It has been amazing to see how supportive people have been. Some have even bought more than one to help out. A great present with a good thought behind it.

As always I have a hard time getting back into blogging when it has been a while. I miss it but as usual time and mostly energy has been working against my blogness. Still is. We are leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow so there are things to be done. But I figured I better go on vacation without blog guilt. It will a real vacation. NO work. Hopefully I will get my dose of photo action and other than that we just plan to get as much hang time with Nick aka Electric Pick as possible. We are looking forward to see this place of his that stole him away from us. So no fresh tattoo shots from Hong Kong but hopefully the photoblog will boom when I get back.

Let's go back in time a bit. Let's catch up, shall we?

Friends have been visiting. Good times. Last it was Joey Ortega who was scheduled to get tattooed by me so we figured that he might as well just stay a bit a do a few tattoos. It was cool to have him and hang out a bit outside a convention.

I have been starting a bunch of cool new pieces but I rather wait until I have finished photos before they go up here. Many has made it to my Instagram though so if you are an Iphone user get Instagram and find me there. I'm Unclea.

Since the sun started to appear I have been listening to a lot of metal. I think I have mentioned that in the previous post. That has opened a big heavy wooden door of inspiration that has started to show on my drawing table. It looks like there will be 3 or 4 new tshirts coming in a hopefully near future. I still need to find a place that can print them.

The last post also showed one of my new Black Metal paintings. The response to it has been really awesome and since I had fun doing it I have decided to make a whole series of them. I have just got the biggest inspiration to the project in the mail but more about that later.

All this metal has also ment that Mr. Dettmer and myself once again will team up at the London convention and have decided to stick with the Metal theme. We will see what crazyness that will lead to. But before you guys start emailing me about appointments please read this following text:

I will make a set of flash sheets made specially for London convention. There will be a theme...yes...it is METAL. I am planning to show a sneak peak when we get closer to the convention and when I have actually made some. There will be NO APPOINTMENTS!! ONLY WALK-INS!! First to booth, first served. No reservations if I can help it and there will be no customizing of the pieces since I will have everything ready including stencils. All pieces will be up for grabs one time. When they are tattooed they will no longer be for sale.

Don't worry, I will get back into details again later.

Ok I know there is so many things I wanted to share and stuff but while I am sitting here writing, printing tickets and stuff time flies so I better start thinking about what to bring to Hong Kong. Sorry!

Black Easter

It has been a while since easter already but better late than never right? So here is how I celebrated easter... Evil style!!

Our friends in Cancer Bats came to town and Stanley brought them here in his van. Stanley is an awesome guy and he is also the one who introduced us to the guys in Cancer Bats when he got us in at the Roskilde Festival 2 years ago. Needless to say, good times were had. New friendships were made and the rest is history. We have talked about doing a satanic bible on him for a long time so since there was a bit of spare time before the bats had to play we figured that now was the time! So done and done! One satanic bible of DOOM!

With all this black art comes a soundtrack as well. A lot of headphone time so I wouldn't drive Amalie crazy. I actually kinda like being in my own little world of headphones. Keeps me more focused. The problem is that it can be really antisocial at home. But it works.

Here I am. Blogging from my iPhone. I'm am sitting in the sun with my morning coffee. No, I'm not on some tropical island but in Bisserup at our summer house. The Danish summer has decided to show up and giving us a taste of good times ahead. Anyway. I know I promised pictures of te fruit of my vacation. Well... Turns out that I kinda needed just that... Vacation. I havn't been able to produce anything really in all this time. Nothing finished anyway. So you will have to wait a bit longer. I am working a bit next week so hopefully there will be proof of creativity in a near future.
So what have I been doing all this time, you might ask (or maybe you don't give a shit but I will tell you anyway). I went on a day trip to Hamburg to hang with friends and see my friends in The Kandidate play with Haust, Gaza, Trap Them and Rotten Sound. Great night and show and it was good to hang with my German friends. I brought my camera to take a few shots at the show. The lighting was terrible so I only managed to get a few shots of Trap Them which I will post on my photoblog when I am back home on my own computer and be able to edit them.
The day after coming back from Hamburg I went to see my friends in Cancer Bats and Stanley who is their tour manager. They were playing in Odense so I took the train to get there and drove with them back to Copenhagen where they stayed with us for the time they were here. I also brought my camera for that show so there will be some shots of that later as well. Brunch were had. Coffee and ice-cream was enjoyed and the weather was nice. Eckel came back from his trip to thailand and joined the fun. Good times all around. I got to tattoo Stanley before the bats had to play their Copenhagen show. We had to ship them off to Belgium the next day which was really hard since everyone just enjoyed hanging out in the nice weather. After shipping them off we went to the park to hang with Eckel in the sun. See all this is stuff I never have the time to do normally so that is one of many reasons why I enjoy my vacation time as just that... Vacation.
We went to the country side after hanging at the park. The weather seams even better with nature and open sky around you. Tonight we will go back to Copenhagen to meet cancer bats on their way to Stockholm. They will have a pit stop at our place before moving on tomorrow... After brunch, coffee and ice-cream.
Now I will try to pretend to get something creative done. Maybe.

Wolfie from hell!

Many things have been going on since the last time I posted but all in a nice pace.
Since we decided not to book anything, all though we weren't going to Japan after all, we have had time to enjoy things going on. We went to the Copenhagen Convention Friday to say hi to all or friends that we usually never get to see. It was nice to be at a convention without having to work. That doesn't happen too often.
Saturday we had some Family thing to go to and sunday we met With Seth Ciferri and his girlfriend Emi for brunch. Super nice people. I have only emailed with Seth and seen him a few times shortly on a convention so it was really cool to find out that he was a great guy in real life too. We had a really great time with those guys!
We went to the shop Monday to hang out and I started a really cool piece on Emi. Our friend Jime Litwalk came by with Joe Capobianco and Andy Schmidt to see the new shop. Jesper who is a great pinstriper and a customer of mine came as well since he knew them too. Our friend David also dropped by so it was a nice day of visits at the shop. We like visits. So I tattooed Emi and Seth tattooed Laurits and that was a full day. Phew.
The next day we started with some brunch with Seth, Emi and John Montgomery who kindly gave us some new inks to try out. Later Amalie and me both got tattooed by Seth and he was also kind enough to retune a machine that I bought from him a while ago. Seth has been a huuuuge inspiration to me and has been a main giant influence when it came to find a way to make roses and stuff...ok ok I stole it all... This is one of the reasons why I have wanted him to do a rose on my hand for a gizzilion years. I was so sad when he kinda stopped tattooing but stoked when I heard that he was getting back into it again.
We went out to our favorite sushi place for dinner and ended back at the shop for some final machine tuning before they had to leave. We hope to have you guys back again really soon.
So now our vacation starts. Not that many plans other than painting and a few shows here and there. I am stoked about all the time I will have for painting but I do miss taking pictures. One of the things I love about going to Japan is that I wanna photograph everything and everybody. Not so much here. I know that Copenhagen is a pretty city but it just doesn't please my viewfinding eye the same way as Japan does. Same goes for the people I see on the streets. I just don't feel the same urge to snap pictures of danish people. I might have to go out and try though, just to get my fix. I can't really think of any projects that I could do here in Denmark at the moment. Any ideas?

The print we did to help Japan is selling like crazy! We have already sold half of them in like a week. First shipment will go out today. So scroll down to the previous post and get the info on how to get a print and help Japan while we still have some prints left. They are also for sale at the shop but we don't have exact days that we will be there. If you wanna pick it up at the shop anyway you can write us about prepaying it through paypal and we will put it aside for you to pick up later. 50 left guys!
If anyone would be interested in buying the original then let me know and I will think of a way to do like an auction thing or something. Depends on the interest.

Even though I havn't worked in a while I still have an unposted picture for you guys. Can't leave you hanging without anything to look at, can I?

We have finally got the prints for Japan ready and for sale on the Conspiracy Inc. blog. All the money from these prints will go directly to Red Cross since we have an insider with them. On top of that we have a special sale on the rest of my print to get more money for Japan. All money made from any other print or flash bought with this print will be donated to Red Cross as well. This is the print for sale. Limited to 100 pieces. Hand signed and numbered. On 300 gram A3 sized paper. And no... the watermark is not on the print.

Hello dear blog readers. It is good to be back and even though terrible things have happened since last time, things are still well in the land of the vikings. Japan...not so much. That is why we had to cancel our trip this time. Japan is our second home and it was a tough decision to cancel and stay home when we felt like we were supposed to be there and help. In the end we realized that we couldn't do anything in Japan other that be in the way and to worry our friends and family back home. I mean, if our friends in Tokyo was thinking about skipping town why should we go there. For what? So we decided to wait and instead try to help from back home in Denmark. That's why we are making a print of my latest painting. All the money will go to Japan. There will be different packages to choose from for those who want to buy more and support Japan more. I will be selling the usual prints and flash together with the new print but a bit cheaper than normal and that money will also be going to Japan. I will be auctioning off the original painting and that money will also go to Japan. On top of that we will try to make a charity day at the Conspiracy Inc. where I will be tattooing (maybe walk-in style) for the cause and we will be selling prints and stuff and some of Amalie hats as well. This will hopefully happen sometime in April so keep and eye on this blog or the Conspiracy Inc. blog for updates. The prints should be with us in a few days so keep an eye out for that as well. I will also try to gather a list of other artists who something similar to gather money to the land that has given us so much.

Mean while in Copenhagen this happened!

First Sylvain and Innina came by from Geneva... and brought chokolade.

Sylvain wanted a workaholic demon who was having himself a little tea break. A little rminder to himself to remember not to work ALL the time. Boy do we know about that feeling. Maybe I should get one of those as well.

Innina wanted to get a piece inspired of a painting done by her grandfather. So i did my version of his roses and we added a few of her tools of the trade behind them.

Anita from the Uk was originally supposed to get tattooed by me on the London convention a few years ago but I had to Cancel her. She came by and finally got her piece. She wanted it super bold and simple and it was super fun to get back to just one bold outline and rough shading and few colours. Good times.

My norwegian homeboy Martin came back to get some more colour in his chest. It is almost done... almost. One small session and we are done and done. I also got me a picture of what we finished last time but the skin was still a bit shiny so we will have to wait with the final picture but you'll get the idea.

Richard and Ria came back for some new tattoos. It was nice for once to start and finish a few pieces so I could have something to show here on the blog.

Richard got him self a tribute to his favourite Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the lost ark. He wanted it to be subtle so we went with a cobra coiled around the Idol from the opening of the movie. Geeks will know.

Ria likes her bird tattoos and is aiming for the award for lady with most bird tattoos. She does have a bit of a way to go but we are working on it. You can see the two budgies we did last time on her other leg. This time...more love birds. A magpie with some bling bling for the other magpie. Are you trying to tell your boyfriend something? Any signals here?

It was great to have them over again and we are already looking forward to the next visit.

I think there was a bunch of things that I wanted to write here but I have forgotten. Maybe next time. Hopefully it won't be as long a break this time.

I have just posted some photos of my grandma on the photoblog. We went to my dads 60 years birthday yesterday. did a hit n run photoshoot of my 84 old grandma as a present for my dad and to have a photo of my grandma myself.

The frustration about not having anything new to post here on my blog has now forced me to make a blog post...without pictures!! Ughrrr..! I hate blogging without pictures but I don't wanna post a pitty picture either. The hard life of a blogger.

It feels like forever since I have finished anything that I could get a good picture of. It seams like I have been starting a tons of things and finished a bunch of old pieces and some new ones where I just couldn't get a good picture because swelling or bleeding or the annoying contrast between old and new. Even though I have posted pictures on my twitter and Instagram it just doesn't feel the same as keeping you dear followers updated. So once again sorry for the absence but it has nothing to do with not wanting to blog.

I wanna use this post for something good anyway. UPDATES!!!

First up: Artshow. I did a flash painting for the Cut N Color for the Tattoo Flash show at The Pretty Pretty Collective in San Francisco. It will be for sale but since we want you people near by to go see it and the rest of the pieces in person there will be no pictures of it until after the opening. Go check it out. It should be a great show with some great artists. I am stoked to have been invited to join. Wish I could be there for the opening! Hopefully we will be able to drop by San Francisco on our holiday this summer and say hi to the nice people behind the last two shows that I have been a part of.

Bizarre magazine has just finished a thingy about me that will be in an upcoming issue. Looking forward to see the finished print with fancy pictures from the new shop.

Speaking of shop. Some might have seen previews of the new workroom on the Conspiracy blog. It looks amazing!! There is still many things that needs to hung on the walls but it is already looking really really epic. Flora have been changing our drawing room too. Looks better than ever but also needs a few last touches. Drop by to see for your self.

It is time for me to go renew my passport and then go finish another old piece that I won't be able to get a good picture of... Sigh...

Hello again my good blog readers. As always I would like to apologies for the absence from this here blog. It hasn't been because of the lack of time (well, also that) but more the lack of stuff to post. I have been starting a bunch of pieces but not finishing a lot and some that I have finished have not been ready for their photo so today I will bring you the one finished tattoo that I did get a picture of.

Mr. J. Bram is a pinstriper and graphic designer. I have done a few tattoos on him already and this one was to celebrate the tools of his trade. The ohhhh so mystical art of pinstriping!! uhhhh...well not really that mystical but who doesn't like a bit of freemasonry sort of thing?

I have been working on some other projects but it is too soon to reveal any of it. I will keep you posted as soon as I figure out how much to leak to you guys.

Everybody needs a hand

Ahhhh...It's saturday and I am not planning to work...well other than do this blog here. Not really a work but sometimes feels a bit like one of those things that you have to do. Doesn't mean that I don't like doing it, it just gets in the way sometimes. Today will mostly be spend in my living room relaxing with pretty books...not the kind with words in them...picture books. Vinyls will be played and hopefully I will be able to squeeze in a bit of Call Of Duty, Black Ops in as well. So far I have only played it with the gang so I feel it is time for some mission action.

This week was a tough bastard to get through. For a long time I have managed to keep the pains away. Tattooers knows what I am talking about. The back pains, the muscle pains, the wrist pains and the hand pains but this week I guess I did something wrong and it resulted in a few days of intense back pains. Still had to work and I think in an attempt to not overwork my back I used some other muscles in a wrong way that moved the pain to my arms. This for me is reason enough to take a couch day off. I do have piles of drawing ideas, piles of started sketches, almost done tshirt designs and paintings to be done but thet will all have to wait a bit. There is a full week of tattooing in front of me so I better charge a bit before starting again.

Well that was enough complaining, don't you think?

Martin has become an instant regular. We are almost done with his Satanic sleeve. We are waiting for some laserwork to be done so we can do the last bit. So on his latest trip down from Norway we decided to start what ended up beeing a front piece. Pictures will have to wait a bit but it includes a satanic skeleton pope and some other cool things! I also did an exception and did his hands. No that doesn't mean that YOU can get them done here as well.

This is the Straight Edge zombie so if you don't want him to eat your brain all you have to do is drink a beer or light up the joint. No intoxicated brains for this Zombie.

This here fortuneteller chick is sad because she broke her crystal ball. It's the second this month and those bad boys are expensive.

Yesterday Olaf came for his 2 second touch up and got himself a gentleman bird. My original customer had to cancel so there was an opening so why not use it for something fun?

Other pieces was started or continued but I am trying to cut back on the in progress pictures unless it is something that will take a while to finish. Well you can see a bit about one of them on Amalies blog since she got some more flowers on her leg/knee.

There will soon be some more action on the photo blog. Promise! But for now some relaxing time.

After many days of days off and last minute cancellations I finally have something to report from the tattoo factory.
Sunday was a good hangout day with many people at the shop but the main purpose was to tattoo Christel. Yesterday our Russian Comrade Max came to get the other shin done. Tough dry Russian skin makes it hard to take good pictures of a fresh tattoo and you will have to wait to see them both together next to each other. A fun piece to do indeed.

I actually just found out that I had forgotten to post this tattoo. Very fitting actually... A Russian doll. I did this piece just before we left for Japan last time so in the all the stress it never made it to the blog but what better time to post it than on a post about our Russian buddy?

There will be a bit more radio silence here on this blog since we have the most of this week off. We were supposed to travel but that didn't happen so we decided to get some things done around here but that means no new tattoos for a couple of days. Well, I might get to tattoo Amalie and I might get to draw or paint a bit so with a bit of luck there will be something t report in the days to come. Space age!! Future world!! Can you feel it?? 2011..no? well me neither.

So I hope you all made it to the other side of the new year in a good and nice way.

I don't really know how to say thanks for 2010 but I do wanna say thank you to all the cool people we have met in 2010. All our old friends that we got to see again in 2010. All the great people who came and got tattooed in 2010. All the amazing people who have gone out of their way to help us with our impossible and neverending project that is our new amazing shop. To all of you people who have checked back on this here blog even though it stands still at times. Thanks for all the support and great comments. Hope you will stick with me for at least one more year. Well in short...Thanks to all of you who was a part of making 2010 a good year. Hope you will help me make 2011 even better. Because even though 2010 was great it has also been a handful at times so I hope we can make this year a bit less troublesome.
I would also like to thank everyone who has show interest in my new photoblog. The response so far has been really awesome and I am so happy that you like it. It will be updated more than this since there is less words and more pictures and I got a lot of pictures that just waits to be used in some way and I am counting on keeping them coming. If there is anyone who has feedback on what you would like on that blog please let me know. Like, should there be more text? Do you want more info about the shoots? Do you want more details about what I have used and how? Anything, please get back to me.

Mads and Peter is no strangers to our shop. Actually they have been getting tattooed by me many times since they turned 18. The twins were the last tattoos I did in 2010 and a good way to end the year work wise. Always good company and I look forward to the the next twin day!

Peter got himself a little green Hanya demon dude. The pictures didn't turn out to good so maybe there will be some better ones later.

Mads got a tattoo of the family dog, Balder. Again not the best shot but it will do for now.

A new blog is born...
I have just published my new photoblog Photographic Memories. There will be very little text and more photos and most likely no tattoos...unless a model has some that is.
There is already a few posts lined up to be posted but a little at a time so check back once in a while.

Copenhagen Cycle Chic is a cool blog showing our danish bike culture in a stylish fashion (pun intended). I really like the way of shooting people on the street and it inspired me to take some shots in the spirit here of, on my last trips to Japan. They were kind enough to put a bunch of my shots up on the blog. Please go check that out HERE and HERE and let me or them know what you think. There might be a post on the new blog later with more shots from this series.

I gave myself an extra Christmas present this year! A DARKROOM (no Eckel, still not the touchy touchy tecno kind of darkrrom). Soon I will be able to develop and print my own pictures! I CAN'T WAIT!! I pretty much got a great deal on everything I will need to do it so now we just have to build the room. I bought it from a great photographer who is a friend of ours and a friend of Amalie's parents. Mr. Peter Olsen. It felt really good buying it from someone who has been taking so good care of it as he has and who knows what he is doing with the stuff. Thanks Peter for the great deal. Exciting! I will have the best teacher I can imagine, Mr Nikolaj Meding who is a great photographer and Amalie's cousin. The great people at Photografica has also promised me to be as helpful as possible and I have already borrowed a couple of books on the subject from one of the guys. This is going to be AWESOME!!

So where were we this time?

Well, we are back from Japan...have been for a while now I guess. It is crazy cold here in Copenhagen specially coming from nice weather in Tokyo. But it is good to back together with the Gang and I have been keeping myself busy with fun stuff...hence the absence from this here blog.

To make a long post short, I have been tattooing a bunch but not much to post YET.
I have been trying to go through the huge Gigapiles of pictures from the trip.
I just finished sorting through the pictures of bikes and people on bikes from Japan. Some of these might go on this Danish blog if they like my pictures. More about that if that happens.

So many things have happened that I don't know where to start or what to say... ok breath...

Well, I have decided to start a new blog. I will make a blog for my photos so the ones of you who only care about the tattoo stuff don't have to scroll through long post with pictures of...well, not tattoos. Also I kinda feel guilty for making these long posts for the same reason, so therefore a new blog will be born soon. I will still have small posts here on this blog when I update the photoblog and if I have stories or what ever to tell about the pictures. See the idea about the new blog is to have more pictures and less words. So the journal part stays here. Anyway... more about that when I am done editing more pictures and come up with a name that doesn't sound too stupid or pretentious.

Since Myspace is dead (or slowly and painfully dying) I decided to kill my internet boredom by joining something that I though I would newer get into. No it's not facebook. I will NEVER make a facebook profile. No, you see, I now have a Twitter account. Yeb! Havn't tweeeeeted much yet but as soon as I have something to say and have figured out how it all works I guess updates and news will be flowing there for you all to see. I figure it will be everything from updates about travels, cancellations/openings, shows or conventions or stuff for sale but also stupid stuff that I want to share with the rest of my fellow internetters. So hit me up. Im...well Uncle_Allan. There will also soon be a link here to push if you can't find me for some reason.

The two paintings from the "Scream With Me" show, that didn't got sold, is now back and safe at the Conspiracy. If you wanna check them out in real life or even wanna own one of them then drop by the shop.

Please keep an eye on Amalies blog for an update of her Etsy shop. She is putting some of her latest masterpieces up there and I took the pictures of them for her shop. It was a fun day so I am looking forward to see the result online. The hats are amazing so go check them out when the shop is up again.

Suburbs

This is the final post from Japan. Final FROM Japan but not about Japan. I have tons of pictures just waiting to be uploaded to my own computer so I can go through them.
We are test packing and will be sending some crap home later today. Tonight will be our goodbye dinner and tomorrow morning we will leave this amazing place to go back what can only seem like a suburb compared to this wonderful city. We will leave this amazing weather, where we have been able to just wear a hoodie and maybe a coat if cold, for snow blizzards and freezing temperatures. Not good. But at least we have some good people and a good shop to come home to. Friends!!
Now we will go have a last breakfast at our Jazz cafe. Gonna miss that too along with all the other things that makes me soooo damn happy here. But we will be back soon.

Here is the last couple of tattoos I did here in Japan... for now anyway. Still have a few more to do but now a few days of vacation. The day before yesterday I got my last session on this trip from Shige and yesterday was Amalies turn. I bet there will be some pictures of both on her blog as soon as she has the time to post them. She did soooo well and we went out with Shige and his family for dinner after her session.
Today we went back to Yokohama. We met up with Toshi at Yokohama station. We went by Yellow Blaze to say hi to Shige again. Matt (the guy who I did a neck and a palm on) were having his 3rd session on his sleeve so he was having fun! We took his wife Sam with us for a bit of China town shopping and a trip to the Ramen Museum! This place was amazing so it deserves it's own post later with pictures.
Tomorrow is another amazing day in Japan and with no work. I might take my camera and have a little photogrphic adventure... I need that! I have a few ideas in mind and there is some places I need to go check out as well now that I finally have the time.

Today is our day off. We are gonna go shopping with Hata and later go have dinner with our friend Izumi. This is a big deal for us since it is the first time we will meet her boyfriend and see where they live.

So this was the last day of the super Tattoo Madness part of the trip. Still have a few more pieces to do but it will be easy compared to this week of making one Trooper/Super Trooper (6 hours/8 hours) after the other. I am telling you, they must put something in the water in Australia because we are talking 9 and 9,5 hours with no complains. One guy even got two tattoos with one day apart and was still talking about going for the highest of titles next time... JEDI KNIGHT! That's right! 11 hours! That, my friends, is the true trooper spirit!
Well let's get to the pictures, shall we and why not start with this young Padawan.

We started with his upper arm. Do to rough Jedi skin it took me longer than I had hoped for so it will have to wait until April to be finished and blogged. He still made it way past Super Trooper on that one. He did, however, finish his Trooper titled piece a couple of days after.

In between his mad sessions we managed to find the time to make a Trooper worthy tattoo on his girlfriend. Can't go wrong with a classic like an owl. Specially if you slap some antlers on it!

The next Aussie couples didn't hold back on their Trooperness either!
Ladies first!
This is a little tribute to her cat. She wanted her cat to have a Venetian mask on and riding a carousel horse. It ended up looking like this after more than 9 hours.

Matt here had his whole arm lined and shaded two days in a row by Shige. Even though that still wasn't fully healed yet he still didn't hesitate (much) to get a huge neck piece AND a palm done. ATTENTION: Palms will NOT be a new thing for me to do. This was the first time and I did it to try it out and since he REALLY wanted me to do it. The deal was that he gave me a spot where I could do a nice tattoo so he at least would have something nice to show from me in case it fell out or blew up or something. And since the rest of his skin was already spoken for to get a bodysuit then we were left with the neck. Some of you might know that I am not the biggest fan of doing neck. It sucks. But to my luck Matt had the best neck skin in the world and that allowed me to do one of the biggest neck tattoo that I have ever done.

We were supposed to do both his palms but we figured that after 5 hours of tattooing on the neck one hand would do. We also just wanna see how that goes and if everything is good we will do the other before we leave.
This idea was Amalies idea. See, I was looking for something mystical/occult/secret to do on this hand since he is getting the pyramid with the all seeing eye on the other. She came up with doing a rose so you could lift your hand and talk "Sub Rosa". Press the link to read about that. Cool idea babe! I googled a bit and came up with this simple 5 leafed rose like they used in the churches.

Last up is this little fellow! I was a bit concerned at first because he only had this spot to give me. Between upper and lower arm on a skinny dude with two cool Matt Sharmah tattoos on both insides. On top of that he wanted it to get a pyramid with an eye. Ok, one more then. It ended up being a really cool piece if you ask me. I am super stoked about them all and you guys have all been good company.
This dude didn't make it to Trooper though, since it didn't take that long. Still think he did a good job any way. Maybe next time when I come back.

I am falling asleep while typing now so I think I will go to bed now.

There might be some pictures coming up tomorrow since it is a day off but we do have plans so only maybe.

I am almost done with my Tattoo marathon part one. I will have a brief stop tomorrow and then back on it friday. But today is still a work day so you will have to wait just a bit longer for some crazy tattoo pictures.

The Eye Of The Tiger

We have safely arrived in Japan. The flight was ok but unfortunately I couldn't sleep...so I watched Rocky Balboa again. Second time on a plane. Anyway... The no sleeping thing wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't because I actually had to work as soon as we got there. There was no other day we could do this since she was going home the next day and who am I to deny her her first tattoo...on the ribs? She did super well and hopefully she will soon forget how painful it was.

After work we went out to our welcome dinner which was good but hard to keep awake to. At this point we must have been awake for like 30 hours or so. The food was good though... I looooove Japanese food.
After a quick stop at our SevenEleven for some icecream and sodas we went home and tried to stay awake for a few minutes of Japanese tv...didn't last long.

Next day I was back at work again. While I was doing my scheduled tattoo this young fellow came in to Inkrat to get a tattoo of Abraham Lincoln. Hata didn't have time so he asked if I could do it. I have been wanting to tattoo Abe for a while so I figured why not. It was a funny feeling too, doing a walkin, since I havn't done that in ages. But he got his Kinda-dead-pressident.

After work we went to dinner followed by a quick trip to Village Vanguard for some shopping. I love shopping at night!
Today is a day off before 2 days in Yokohama. I will get tattooed tomorrow and Amalie is up next so maybe it will be a few days before I am back here with updates but updates there will be. A lot of work to come as well. As always you can also follow our doings on the wifeys blog.
Now I will enjoy my first day of in Japan.

My evil Norwegian homeboy Martin came back to get some more evil sataness carved into his skin. This is turning into the most evil sleeve I have ever done and maybe will ever do. I mean, if I wasn't going to hell for the satanic dirty antler ladies then this sleeve would save me a good spot.
This time he actually had two days in a row but we still have a bit left on todays session so you will have to settle with yesterdays evilness:

I always love when my work days seem like a mix of work and hanging out with friends. Had one of those days yesterday with our buddy Jon who came to get a little love declaration done. Ms. Ama'r.
A good day with a lot of good music makes a good day at work. Yes sir.

Eckel got the debut album from Mumford And Sons from one of his customers. I had seen one video from them that I really liked but didn't really know what to expect from the rest. You see, I really REALLY hate Irish-kinda folk music and it doesn't get better if you mix it with other genres like punk. No I REALLY don't like Dropkick Murphys!! But these guys somehow managed to slip through the hate net. It didn't take many beats either to convince Jon that this was some serious awesome shit. That's why this video is dedicated to Jon and the proud ship Ms. Ama'r.

The opening of the Scream With Me show in San Francisco was a few days ago so I think it's time that I show what I did for it. All 3 paintings are A3 size (+ frame.) and are all for sale at the gallery so hurry up and go there if you wanna get away with one of these evil ladies.

First off; Booking!!! Yes! One of the most FAQ! Now we finally have an answer to that question. This is the real deal people. No matter what you have heard about how impossible it is to book with me, it's not true. It is possible to get an appointment. Maybe not next week or month but it's not impossible. You still have to get in contact with my wife Amalie to book with me but she has made a really cool system to try to avoid and slowly get rid of my waaaaay too long waiting list.

well due to temporary loss of internet I forgot what else to inform you guys about. So that's it.

Tomorrow I will finally get to see my good friend Jacob play with his band The Kandidate. They will be on tour with Volbeat and Entombed in Europe so go check them out! So far I have missed out every time they have played near me so I am excited to finally see them live.

Happy Sunday everyone.
I have been editing pictures for Amalie all weekend. We had a photoshoot with Christel and her sister Jacqueline to show Amalies hats. It was an awesome day and a real educational experience for me. I got to try out different gear and figured out a whole lot about light and composition and stuff like that. So now I finally found the time to edit them. Normally I prefer just taking the picture and make it as good as possible on the camera so I don't need to do any Photoshopping later. I like to take the picture as if it was film. For me that is more photography than if you just snap a picture just to photoshop the shit out of it later. For me that can seem more like photoshop art than photography but in this case I wanted to go crazy and have a old picture kinda look. What I did/am doing is that I have taken a bunch of pictures that I am happy with as they are but then on top of that I edit them to make them look like old Holga-ish pictures with grains and lightleaks and all that shabang. Holga...So hot right now...Holga!
I will post some soon when I am done and Amalie has posted them on her etsy and blog.

I guess I better show a bit of skin to keep you around so here is another lamp...Yes he also loves lamp.

London is the reason

This weekend we went to the London convention. Usually we have a great time there. This time...not so much. You see, a few days earlier I was foolish enough to stand outside in the cold and rainy weather painting the frames for the artshow mentioned in the previous post (SOOO stoked to be in that!!)...wearing short sleeves!! Great idea! Awesome! Well thought out plan chap! Well of course I caught a cold which not only gave me the worst plugs in my ears on the flight but also meant that I had to cancel working on the first day, Friday! Sucked BIG TIME! Fortunately that meant that I could walk around and talk to people and buy stuff. All the things that I never have time to do on the conventions. I hadn't booked any one in since I was just gonna do walk-ins from pre-drawn designs so no one had to get canceled. Saturday was better in the way that I actually did one tattoo. Felt better but wasn't in super shape so Amalie made sure that I didn't overworked myself as I usually would. That resulted in a few disappointed people but what can you do when your nose is running? Sunday I upped it and did two tattoos. That's right!!
To all of the people who I have met this weekend: I hope I didn't seem to far away in my head. I tried my best to be present the whole time but it was a bit hard once in a while. So I am sorry if I seamed a bit...off.

I am not really sure if this booking plan worked as I wanted it to so I don't know if I will do the same thing next year or try something else. I do know that I hate to disappoint people so I might think of something else. Sorry to all who had hoped to get tattooed! Maybe next time.

There wasn't much partying going on. Thursday night I was out and asleep before 10 at night. Never happens!! The rest of the weekend was pretty much, Dinner and off to bed. But it seamed like we weren't the only ones who were lacking energy this weekend so at least we didn't feel too guilty for not being the big party animals.
But it wasn't all bad. Good friends, nice customers and awesome people in general made it worth the trip and we also got a few awesome presents to bring home with us.

Dan Smith gave us a print of the painting he did for a Sea Shepherd art show which is a good motivator for me to get started on doing one too. I have had planned to do a charity painting for Sea Shepherd for a looooong time now so this might help me to get started. Thanks Dan.

The best part is always to see those people we only see this one time a year. Even though it might only be for a few minutes it still means a lot. So to all our old friends, It was good to see you again, and to all our new friends, it is a pleasure to get to know you. See you all again next year.

I'm back. Back from London. Back to a more daily routine. Back to this blog.

Before I get into all the things that I have been up to I would like to start with this post. This has been one of the reasons why there has been a lack of posts here on the blog. I have been invited to join a group show in San Francisco called "Scream With Me". It is an honour to be among these people, a lot of whom I really admire. I don't even understand that I was asked to be a part of this but I am stoked about it and I just wish I could be there myself to see the show. If it wasn't for our recent trip to the London convention (see following post) and our upcoming trip to Japan, I would take the trip to SF to be there at the opening. So if you find your self in the area please go check it out and represent me.
I was asked for 3 paintings so I decided to do a series around "scream". "I scream", "You Scream" and "We Scream". A bit cheesy perhaps but I hope people will look more at the paintings than the title. I'm not gonna spoil it for the gallery or the people who wanna go there so here is just a small tease but I can say this much...If you like chicks and corpse paint and bit of erotic then you might like these 3 paintings.

I have been wanting to post this video for ages...well since it came out but havn't had the time to post anything as you might have noticed. But here it is now. I have this idea about putting music videos in the next couple of post, just to share what we are into at the moment. Anyway, I found this other video featuring Cee-lo Green doing a Band Of Horses cover. A bit heavy but I posted another Fuck You video to make you feel better again. Some Chase action at my workstation.

Since it has been a while since I have posted anything here I will try to get you all up to date in one post. It is the only way that I can catch up and get back in a normal flow here. There is still a bunch of pictures from both Japan and California that I wanna post but first I will bring you up to date with current affairs.

Since the last time, we went on vacation...meaning one week of redecorating our living room and the shop, and one week in the country side. Good times and much needed relaxation.

Some tattoos have been made...some posted here and some not finished or too bloody to take a picture of so they will have to wait a bit.

Nick finally came back to us and the new shop!! Awesome to have the whole team together at one place and it is amazing to have such a good team around! When we get Eckel brainwashed to like War of the worlds, it will be the perfect unstoppable team! It will happen!! Ohh yes!!!

Friends came and visited from Austria and Texas Via Tokyo. More good times!!

I finally received my amazing prints from one of my absolute favourite photographers, Chase Lisbon. We got them all framed and hung them in the shop with a bunch or other photos. Unfortunately we only got to enjoy them for a short time because we had to take them down while the water damage in our kitchen is being fixed...long story that sucks. I am trying to find some time and energy to do some paintings and I also have a bunch of photo projects in mind but we will see. Art show in SF coming up and so is the London convention. This year there will be NO prebooking. ONLY walk-ins. I will do a bunch of pre-drawn designs to choose from and that will be the only things I will be tattooing at the convention. I will only tattoo them once so it will still be one of a kind tattoos. So if you wanna get tattooed by me at the London convention then drop by the booth and see if there is anything you will like and if there is time for you. It's that easy.

Now it is time for me to have my first day with NO plans in I don't know how long. I know I should edit photos or draw or paint but I feel like charging the batteries and do as little as possible before a new week begins with a bunch of interesting tattoos to do and hopefully also a finished painting. That's right. Only background and some fresh outline and there will be a new laaaaady at the shop.

I guess it is about this time where I nedd to feed you guys a coupke of tattoos to keep you watching.

This post is dedicated to Canadians.

Our awesome friends Liam and Marika came to visit. We met them last year when Cancer Bats played at the Roskilde Festival and they stayed with us the whole weekend. Luckily we weren't the only once having a blast back then so they decided to drop by for some more hang time. This time without having to go or play at a festival. Good food was eaten, 2nd season of True Blood was watched (SOOOOKIE!!), fleamarked was visited and great times were had!
Tattoos were done. I know there will be a few people thinking, "he always say that he won't do it just black and grey and that it need a bit of colour". That is true, I usually try to put a few drops of colour in the mix but if you only have black tattoos already then that's how it's gonna be so...here is some black tattoos. I really liked the look of it and I have been playing around with the idea of doing more heavy black pieces lately so it might happen again.

It was really cool to have friends coming over like that. We work so much on either the shop or tattooing that we rarely have time to hang out with anyone in Denmark so it is awesome when good peeps comes visit like that. So nice house guests too. While Liam and Marika was here I also had a customer from Canada. They had even met each other before. Funny. Anyway. She got the head of Marie Antoinette...without the body. Kinda dead...like eyes rolled back in the head dead. Fun piece!!

Today is the first of 4 drawing days I have pencilled in! AWESOME!!! We have some room on the walls at the shop that needs to be filled and some empty frames to go with it. I also have plans for a little photo shoot with my skating customer Mads. You know his pieces and I will remind you when we get to that. Now...drawing time.

We just got back from California today. Miss my Californian buddies already!!
I am sorry for the lack of posts but with hangout time and work and friends we weren't left with much blog time...BUT...
Klaus made this video while we were hanging out together. Returning to one of the many supermarkets that we have roamed and goofed around in. The video was shot on his new Canon rebel something something and edited in his lunch break. But if you ask me it could have been made by a pro!! A real Pro and I think Slayer should hire him to do their next music video. Until that happens we will have to settle for this little masterpiece. We are off to California for some good times with our OC buddies and later some more international hanging at Long Beach. Hopefully our beloved Quality Suites will supply us with internet so there will be chances for blogging. Due to extreme busy times at the shop I havn't even gone through the Japan pictures yet so that will have to wait.

This is from our favourite sushi place in Koenji, Tokyo. Amazing sushi for a good price and a cool small place. You sit by the counter and order as you go. When you are done they collect your coloured plates and that way figure out how much you have eaten for.

We have been there a bunch of times now...heck we even have a mug from the place and we have a picture (soon two) of the chefs hanging in our hallway. We love that place.

Yesterday was Lucifers 6 years birthday. That happened to be on a day off and on a sunny day too! Awesome! Coffee was had in the sun. A lot of walks. Burgers were eaten including a small burger for lucifer. Movies was watched. Strange sodas was had. A good day.

Now it is "real" monday...that means tuesday and back to real life. At least I have some fun tattooes to do.

We are back in Denmark. Yeah yeah yeah you know...it sucked. The day we got back was fine but the next day!! Started fine but as soon as we stepped out of the apartment, bad things started to happen. That's it! That's all I'm gonna bug you with because I could go on for hours.

Here is some of that last tattoos I did in Japan this time. Look at those and forget about the ranting part of the post.

This young Canadian had done his research and decided that I was gonna be the one to do the first tattoo on him. We did this big rib piece in 2 sessions so well done my friend! Good job.

As soon as I get some alone time with my computer here, that doesn't happen late at night, I will start to go through some of the pictures from Japan. I hope there will be a few good series in there somewhere.

...US!!! Why? Because when we tried to check in on our flight home tomorrow the system couldn't find our names. A bit of panic started to build up in my head. On my Iphone I went into my inbox to find the tickets and there it was! The winner number. MAY 4!! Not the 3rd as we have thought all along!! Whaaat!! An extra day in Tokyo? Yes please! So tonight we went to almost goodbye dinner with our friends. We are already all packed and ready to go so no need to spend more time on that. The weather today has been amazing and I have been in tshirt ALL day... all day till now at midnight. The weather report says that it will be just as good tomorrow. AWESOMENESS!
So it will be a day or two more before the real post including pictures and stuff will show up here on the blog.

Tomorrow more hanging out so I will most likely be blogging from Denmark next time.

Today we went to Shinjuku to hang out and relax. our first plan was to go to a temple but since it was sunday and the weather was sooooo nice we figured that it would be too crowded. So we went to another crowded place instead.
I did get to take a bunch of pictures for the "Japanese People" thing I got going. I havn't even wanted to put the pictures from the last many trips on the computer yet because I kinda wanna wait till I am all done. Still more days to take pictures of random Japanese folks.

Here is a few more tattoos done on this trip. I actually did them like a week ago or something but just havn't gotten around to post them.

I actually started this first one last spring when we were here. Due to money and Navy duty we didn't get to finish it then as planed. But now it is done and done!

We have been doing soooo many things and there is sooooo much to tell and even more to show but other thing needs to be done. I promise there will be posts about it all sooner or later. Tomorrow is my last day off before two days of work and then my last session on this trip with Shige. Ugh!!!

Yesterday we went to Yokohama and Shige again but this time I was off the hook! This time it wasn't me who had to be nervous about getting tattooed. Yesterday was the day that my brave wife got her thigh (and then some) tattooed by Shige. You should go see her new fox and some more of my pictures on her blog.

While she was getting tattooed I got a chance to sneak out for a moment and enjoy the weather for a bit. I wanted to take some more pictures for my (in progress) series of Japanese people but old people in Ichikawacho is angry looking. Every time I as much as thought in my head that I would sneak a picture I looked at them and they would look angry back at me. So not a lot of picture here. I did take a few on the street anyway.
Soon after I went back to make sure that the wife was alive and well and that was the end of the nice weather.
Today it is raining like hell!! Tomorrow will be the same! Good thing is that I have finished a bunch of drawings for my upcoming project. More about that later.

Shinjuku on a rainy day

The other day we went on a no mission day to Shinjuku. The weather was really sucky but a day off no less so shopping had to be done. Well, mostly looking at stuff. I was armed with the Canon AV-1 but I had no idea what film I had in it. The weather didn't really inspire to shoot anything. It was just blah...not bright and not dark enough to go heavy...just blah. Well pictures was still taken.
We met up with Crystal for a quick coffee and then later on we went to the birth town of Astro Boy, Takadanobaba, to meet up with Izumi who works at one of our favorite tattoo magazines, Tattoo Burst. Just because the Magazine is great doesn't mean that they have a fancy office or anything. The "office" is more like a small corner between boxes, on a floor shared with other magazines. Since tattoos are in the adult category, it was mostly porn. Everywhere was old computers, boxes random piles of porn and more old computers.
When Izumi finished work we went out to dinner in Shinjuku. This is where I ran out of film but go look at Amalies blog for more pictures from that day.

It is time for me to try to catch up with the blogging. It's not that I don't have anything to blog about. Actually the post material keep piling up but it is more the time to do so...well I have the time but there is just so many other things to do...and also we have one computer for two bloggers. But here is the first tattoo post from this trip to Japan.

The first picture was Mel who got her.... well, jaw, tattooed. We figured out that, Japan was the only place she could get me to do it since it's against the law to do hands and above neck in Denmark and I don't do it on conventions either...sooooo, Japan it was.

Brendan came from down under to get tattooed...TWICE!! Not only that but he had recently bought one of the original animals from the print set AND he is already booked in for a sleeve in Denmark next year! Brendan you rock! See you sooner maybe!
The first day he got a little reminder of home. A koala popping out of the old globe where the heart marks the spot...home.
Second time was this pirate parrot who has the key to the monkey island treasure around it's neck...sitting on a monkey skull....arggg.. It's actually a really cool story but I don't have time to tell you all about it. Sorry!

My life in Japan

Dear Blog readers.
If this will be the last you hear from me it is because I am on my way for my second appointment in a row with Shige. My back hurt from what we did yesterday and now I am about to go back and do some more right on the same spot!! Urg!!!
Well other than that it is sooooo awesome and much needed to be back in Japan and Tokyo again.
Well, then you might think; where is the photos then?
Well... I might have been here for some days now but I have been tattooing for 3 of them and getting tattooed (soon) 2 of them. Next 2 days will also be tattooing days but after that there should be time for some vacation and some blogging for sure. Good tattoos, good stories and hopefully the first wave of photos from Japan. Until then just check in on the wifes blog for updates and good stuff.

This will be the last post from Denmark for a while. Next post will be from our second home, Japan. We are getting a new apartment this time so we don't know how the internet situation will be but we will have internet at Inkrat so we will be able to post at least once in a while.

Stefan had his last tiny session on his lady with big big horns. If you haven't guest it yet then I really like antlers and horns and I like to put them on girls! No no it's true...I do!!

Max took some time of from drinking vodka, playing the balalaika, dancing and being a good communist while singing sad folklores about mother Russia, to come get a god old satanic horned lady tattooed. Well maybe he wasn't that much of a cliche but he did come from Russia! Lasted way more than it takes to become a trooper and could have made it to super trooper had it needed to be. Good job comrade Max!

Second original is gonna leave it's home to go to a warmer place. Australia! I feel that I will get to know the new owner pretty soon as he has two appointments in Japan and has, on top of that, appointments in Denmark as well later on for a sleeve. Awesomeness!

Still more originals left to buy, although Amalie isn't happy to let them go any more after seeing them again. So buy them before my wife does!!

Zoo For Sale

As promised here is a post with the painting for sale and the measurements. But first...a few tattoos.

This first little 2 headed eagle was simply glowing too much when we first finished it so I was happy to be able to get a healed shot of it today. Still a bit touch up to come but good enough for now.

Second guest was James who came back to get on with his backpiece after a looooong time. "Backpiece you say, Allan. But that is a leg?" Yes but we decided to move on a bit and start on one of the legs that goes with said backpiece. It was a bit tricky since I had two find the 2 year old drawings to match waves and flowers but it will work! Good job on that James.

The Little Critters Of Nature...

I know that you might think; "well, since that Allan guy never really blogs anymore there must be shitloads of tattoo pictures coming up...He keeps talking about how much he works all the time so he has to produce something".
Well yes, that is true. I am producing a lot. A lot has been in progress, a lot has been super old stuff that is getting finished but doesn't turn out good on pictures, and some have been new stuff that has been impossible to take good in progress pictures of so I actually for once havn't had that much to prove for it. But here is two things just to show that I still tattoo.

In other news:

-We will go to Japan soon so hopefully there will be a bunch of pictures and new tattoos to show and maybe a nude shot or two of me since I have 3 appointments on my backpiece. We will see.

-Our good friend Chriss Dettmer was just here for an extended weekend. Always great to see him and get to work with him and even got tattooed by him...well if you wanna see what happens when you get 3 brainiacs together then go to the shop blog!

SPRING CLEANING!

I have decided that I am ready to let go of a few original paintings. I usually never want to sell any but It is time for me to let go a bit. I am talking about the originals for the animal prints and the hourglass print. I will make a post about it soon with the exact measurements and new pictures but with the time I have had lately, here is just pictures of said prints. The prices will be around 4500 dkr pr original (about 600 €, about 800$) plus shipping. I will have them for sale until we go to Japan next Friday but in order to ship them out before we leave the last order will have to be made around Wednesday. One more time for the cheap rows... Sune came all the way from the other side of the country to get his final touchup session... only to find out that there was nothing to touch up. Well.. At least I could get some healed up pictures of this tribute to his parents. Maybe Papa Sune will end up on the arm of his own offspring some day.

Thomas got his second session on his "3 Chords and the truth" piece. We added Mr. cash, Tim and Billie Joe Armstrong. Three Chords and the truth was Harlan Howards definition of a good country song but since that fits well with punk rock as well we added these two gents. More of this later this month.

We are slowly getting closer and closer to a finished shop. Maybe in a week it will almost be a complete shop with a real floor and a front room. Until then I still tattoo and try to decorate every day...therefore not so many posts. I promise to take some shop shots soooon... I just neeeeed a little more time to....

First day of moving to the new shop is done...well it wasn't really the first day since we have been working on it for a while now but today was the first day where we actually started to move almost everything from the old shop. A GINORMOUS THANKS to all the awesome people who came to spend most of their saturday moving crap for us and cleaning and painting and putting IKEA furnitures together and getting rid of tons of crap etc. You guys ROCK and we can't thank you enough!!
I gotta give a special thanks to our friends who helps us paint the whole place and who have been working almost non stop for I-don't-know-how-long now to make the new place look good for when we re-open. We have been sooooo lucky to have people help us and work overtime to make this happen. THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Tomorrow will start with some fleamarked action and then some more unpacking and putting up stuff. There is still a lot to do but we will be operational Monday as planned. The plan is to celebrate all this sometime in May when we are sure that we have finished everything and know that we have a floor and a frontroom.

Now a bit of relaxation before bedtime!

Pit Of Doom!

I have found myself with a few minutes of energy and time to Blog. No new pictures or anything but here is a picture of the pit of Doom where we are supposed to have a front room. We are still debating whether or not to keep it like this but with a small bridge from the door to the office...ad a few sharks with laserbeams and we are rocking. "hi, can I get a tribal armband with a kanji in the...ARRRGGGGG" BZZZZZZZZZZZZAP!!!

Even though we wont have a front room for a couple of weeks we are still getting closer to an awesome shop. We will start moving and finish stuff from this Thursday to Sunday...We gotta be ready for working monday morning so we got to get our busy hats on and get this moving/fixing-up party started!! There will most likely be a cleaning party and moving boxes and crap party but, hey, if you ain't got nothing better to do, Right?

Amalie and our friend Corey and her friend Sara and I went to this HUGE flea marked yesterday where I found a bunch of the things that I have been thinking about putting on the walls for like forever but the old shop just didn't seem right for this stuff so I was happy to finally be able to do it. I have decided to start colloecting the following:

Old cool keys and locks...specially the more ornamenty kind.

Antlers... You know I loves me some antlers!!

Skulls... well duuuh!!

Big old scissors.

Cool old crosses and rosaries.

I promise that there will be plenty of pictures of this as soon as we get the new shop ready for picture taking!!

I also added a few cool frames to my ever growing collection of frames. Now I just need tp produce stuff won't I?

We got some cool lamps to.

I can't wait to make this shop of cool/mystery overload!!

We also finally got or trip to Japan planed out.
